In September 2021, PrimeTrust Federal Credit Union joined the CUAC Program to enhance its auto loan portfolio. At the time, the credit union’s portfolio consisted of indirect lending, commercial participation, and organic direct loans. Despite having an indirect lending program, PrimeTrust FCU was not achieving the loan numbers or membership growth it anticipated. As a result, they sought a new partner that could help them achieve their specific objectives of $1M a month in loan volume, twenty-five new members a month, and a program that met the community’s auto lending needs.
After a thorough evaluation of various indirect lending providers, PrimeTrust FCU chose CUAC as their partner. According to Timothy E. Pierce, the President and CEO of PrimeTrust FCU, “The service is easy to use and allows us to compete for our members’ loans at the dealership. We are able to make decisions on the weekend and late at night.” Additionally, CUAC’s reputable dealer representation and access to RouteOne and Dealertrack, digital contracting through both portals, DDS and other technology components were significant factors in their decision.
Since joining forces with CUAC, PrimeTrust FCU has exceeded its goals, bringing in over $1.5M in monthly loans and growing its membership at a faster pace than anticipated. Mr. Pierce expressed his satisfaction with CUAC, stating, “They are easy to work with, their reporting is comprehensive & robust and allows us to manage risk and loan profitability. This is a great partnership and collaboration.” Kurt Howard, COO of CU Alliance, had this to say. “We have really enjoyed working with Tim and his team at PrimeTrust FCU. They have a great reputation in Muncie and the surrounding area with the dealer base and are really committed to success with the program. I am excited to see the growth that Tim will bring to the credit union and CUAC is very happy to be a small part of it.”
PrimeTrust Federal Credit Union has been providing financial services to its members since 1935. The credit union’s community charter was approved in 2011, allowing them to serve anyone who lives, works, worships, or attends school in Delaware County.
